Pak Ramlee, Datuk Samy and Tauke Tan each left their hometowns — Penang, Kluang and Melaka — to chase their dreams in Kuala Lumpur. From different backgrounds, they became fast friends the moment they joined the same company.
They played football on weekends, shared teh tarik at the mamak on weeknights, and pursued girls together (mostly unsuccessfully). They watched Malaysia's economic boom lift them up — and its later crises test them.
Conflicts came and went. Respect and tolerance deepened. Their friendship, admired by many, became a quiet portrait of the Malaysia they grew up in — messy, warm, and unmistakably ours.
By 2022 the three of them found themselves missing the flavours and memories of a slower Malaysia — the mamak table, the roadside stall, the warm rice at grandmother's house. That longing had a name.
Together they co-invested in DuluKita — a restaurant that brings back the authentic tastes of the past, and reconnects Malaysians through delicious, local food. Six outlets on. Still growing.
